The common room has been closed down and turned into a O level library.
No more war cry and prefects will start at form 3... What do
you guys say about this? I think we should not allow our school to go
down like this.

Hi, Below is a note from Mr Harry Fincham's wife (Lynda Fincham). He was
headmaster of:-
Gifford 1974-1983?
Milton 1984-1987
Kindest regards
Hylton Garriock
Dear friends
Our dear Harry died peacefully this afternoon at 4.45 pm (local time).
Berry, Rod, Biddy and I were with him when his breathing slowed, then
stopped.
He had gentle loving care during the day from the palliative nurse, his
GP and the caregiver. Our parish priest, Father Francis Onwunali, has
just left, after some beautiful prayers and sprinkling of holy water.
His grandchildren have called in after work. The funeral mass will be on
Tuesday 30 September at 11.00 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, 1
Kenmore Road, Kenmore, Brisbane 4069.
He gave so much love. We will miss him.
Lynda

Miss Florence Muriel King (Eveline)
Hi
I am doing some research in to my family history and have come across
some details of my great aunts - one of them being Florence Muriel King
who I believe taught at Eveline before becoming a principal of Girls
High School, Wynberg South Africa in 1914 from where she retired in
1932. Previous to that she was Vice-Principal at Rondesbosch Girls High
School Cape Town up to about 1912 and then went on to teach at a girls
school in Bulawayo (Possibly Eveline?) until 1914. She was born in
Richmond, Yorkshire in 1877 and was a sister of my grandfather. She went
to Cheltenham Ladies College and then obtained a B.A. degree at London
University. I knew her as Auntie Muriel.
I attach a lovely picture of my five great aunts on the stepping stones
below Richmond, Yorks on the river Swale when they were young girls. All
of them remained unmarried and all were fiercely independent - at least
two became headmistresses and the others teachers. Happy for you to use
it on your school website if it is relevant?
Do you have any photos of information you might be able to share with me
about her and your school or perhaps there were other girls schools in
Bulawayo between ?
Hope so?
Best wishes

How are things? Just found the site again, after many years.. I lived in
Cape Town for many years, but in January 2012 was holidaying in
Australia and discovered a job advertised to which I applied, and now
have lived in Queensland for 2 years.

Hello,
I see there are many email addresses of past pupils of your school on
your website. My partner Cornelis Smith was at your school back in the
late 1950s he is trying to locate his brother Stephen Harold Smith who
also was at the school and thought if he adds his contact details maybe
he might contact him.

It would be greatly appreciated if you would add my name and email
address to the list of Old Miltonians. I was at Milton from 1950 to
1954.
In addition if you could give me the email addresses and location of
Gordon Haresign, Chris McCosh, Tony Hawkins, Brian Courteney, I.
Abramov, Dennis Stevens, Gavin Godhawk all of whom were at school with
me around the same time. Are there any reunions planned in Bulawayo ?
